Description

An 18-month internship aimed at providing an administrative support service for effective document management and information systems. The primary function involves the management of correspondence, retrieval and filing of files, and disposal of obsolete files in line with relevant guidelines, standards, and legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for an effective document and information system
  • Classify, register, scan, and save all records and documents into the electronic system
  • Manage the filing, retrieval, and disposal of obsolete documents/records and files
  • Assist with general office administration and document management/archiving
  • Handle the registry of all records and documents

Qualifications

  • Matric/Grade 12 (NQF level 4)
  • Studying towards a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree
  • Computer literacy (MS Office Applications)
  • Advantageous:
  • Previous training and/or experience in a related field
  • Understanding of the public sector industry
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the City regulations and the National Archiving Act (NAA)
